Shelley spent fifteen years in Human Resource Management, specializing in Performance Management, Organizational Development and Employee Relations. In successfully mediating scores of conflicts in the workplace, she noted that most disputes arose from differing expectations and perceptions of the contenders. She also observed that participants in successfully mediated conflicts tended to grow in self-awareness and productivity. These observations sparked an abiding interest in the importance of perceptions and self-awareness in performance.
Shelley’s real gift lies in training and development, specifically preparing organizations and individuals for change. She has advised businesses, associations, non-profits and government agencies on how to manage cultural changes; and she has designed and delivered training for organizations undergoing mergers and acquisitions. Outside the workplace, Shelley has started, led and participated in several community spiritual support groups, in various cities in the
Shelley holds a BA in English, and a MA in Human Resource Development, with a minor in Counseling. She holds several industry specific designations such as Senior Professional in Human Resources and is certified in Instructional Systems Design.
